Candidate Forum

-

Since 1989 SHSC has held the only forum that specifically discusses a candidate's commitment to health and human services.

Prior to each forum, member coalitions asses the assets and needs of folks who use their services. These statements are then compiled into a document we call the Agenda for Meeting Basic Human Needs, which is represents the current issues of each service area (homelessness, affordable housing, hunger, child care, etc) and the action necessary to address the needs of our City's residents. This document is then forwarded to each candidate along with an invitation to attend the Candidates Forum.

Transcribed Notes (Coming Soon!)

Candidates are allowed 5-10 minutes depending upon the office they are running for, to present their position. Questions are then taken from the audience on specific areas of interest.
