These Funds were cuts recommended by the King County Executive and the Mayor of Seattle, but because of our work, will continue to fund essential human services to meet the basic needs of residents of Seattle and King County. (any more info)

2002: Substantial increase in housing, health and human services resources.

In 2002, the coalition worked with the City of Seattle Mayor and Council members to achieve a substantial increase (over $10 million in the next biennium) in housing, health and human services resources, including a Cost of Living Adjustment increase from 2% to 3.6% for all human services contracts. The new method of calculation is in place to be used each year, thus having a substantial long term impact as well.
