ADVOCACY WORKS!!
Since coming together in 1987, coalition members and community leaders have brought their voices together to create a shared policy agenda to help people in our communities meet their basic human needs.
Each City of Seattle budget year, SHSC members come together with other community members to create a budget recommendation portfolio. As part of the 8 month process of creating those recommendations, we have learned that many providers and community members need the opportunity to learn about the City Budget process, along with the role advocacy plays in that process.
JOIN US THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH FROM 1-4PM AT GREEN LAKE LIBRARY
FOR A FREE TRAINING SESSION ON ADVOCACY AND THE CITY OF SEATTLE BUDGET PROCESS.
We will gather in the library’s MEETING ROOM at 7364 East Green Lake Dr. N Seattle with light snacks. Space is limited so pleas RSVP!
This session is open to the public for all who wish to bring their voice to how public dollars should be spent.
YOUR VOICE COUNTS! Whether the recommended investments in SHSC's budget portfolio are added depends on your demonstrated community support. We know the city of Seattle has the resources to ensure that all Seattle residents can reach their full potential; we know it's a question of priorities. Ask Mayor Murray and the City Council, "What are your priorities?"
We invite you to take a look at the SHSC 2017-18 budget recommendation portfolio for more details.
